Patient Care Tower, UMC

DESCRIPTION:
The eight story, 315,000 sq. ft. addition, hosts 12 operating rooms, 90 private rooms and a replacement facility for Ellis Fischel Cancer Center. The 90 private rooms include "smart room" technology to wirelessly integrated medical devices into the hospital's electronic medical record keeping. The new Ellis Fischel Center will replace an outpatient facility; the 100,000 sq. ft. facility will cover two floors and host two linear accelerators, two magnetic resonance imaging rooms, two CT scanners and one PET/CT. The addition also includes 7,000 sq. ft. inpatient pharmacy with robotics to automatically dispense medication, 25 pre-procedure rooms and 18 post-procedure recovery rooms, and a nearly 1,800 sq. ft. lounge for families of surgery patients.
