Boone Hospital Patient Tower

DESCRIPTION:
7 story, 247,500 square foot patient tower addition includes 32 intensive-care beds and 160 medical/surgical beds, with state the art patient care and communications. Additional parking needs were addressed by constructing a new 223,000 square foot, 940-vehicle, parking structure connected to the patient tower by an enclosed pedestrian walkway. The Hospital’s existing laboratory was relocated to the new basement of the patient tower and consisted of 20,000 SF of lab space and 5,000 SF mechanical support room space. The expansion and relocation of the Hospitals existing lab facility provides greater capability and more efficient layout, resulting in faster and better care to patients. The move relocates pathology, hematology, chemistry, micro biology, molecular testing as well as lab administration and support.
